Garret master hunter

hi i am new to this forum and wanted to ask if anyone knows about the Garrett Master Hunter i cannot find the right operating manual for this metal detector
i have attached a photo of this unit for possible identification

does anyone know how old this
also this is fitted with a groundhog search coil is are these any good

also what does the button on the handle do,on the control box the tune dial says push whilst tuning but mine does not push in ?

Knobs and push button on handle looks like P.B. Groundhog 1981 15khz

It's a TR/Discriminator. The push button resets the threshold. You can run in either all metal or discriminate but not at the same time. It is a good machine but in hot ground you will be limited to the all metal mode. The toggle switch is for mode change, AM or Disc. I found lots of coins with mine back in the 70's and 80's. HH
 
Wow! :surprised:That's a blast from the past. Looks just like my old Coin Hunter VLF/TR. Cool old machine.:wiggle: Featherweight series. My old Coin Hunter came out in 1977 and I think that Master Hunter that you have came out the next year.:garrett::detecting:
