has anyone used this machine in the salt water
Was wondering what kind of depth your getting on nickels or gold rings
Any other advice would be helpful

get you a real good scoop , because you will need it. work good in salt water , works a hole lot better in fresh water.

90% of my detecting is done with the ATX in the salt waters of New England. YES! is it a great detector here.
Florida and the Caribbean I use an Exclaibur.
It is very hard to tell the "depth" that a target that is dug in 4 feet of water.I don't take much notice now. I hear it, I dig it.
But I can say that it has found smaller and I assume deeper targets that my Infinium has. I still use the Infinium in the
winter months in very rocky area with the 8" coil. Hey, no one detector can do it all so I have a collection of 13 with many
extra optional coils.

Check out the Garrett Infinium Forum Classroom...http://www.findmall.com/list.php?62 Go back to the beginning and read.
Lots of good information.

I just got back from beach detecting and my bud was using his with the hemungus coil.

That thing is heavy. Just so you know.
