G2, Worth keeping in the stable

I took a young rookie metal detecting last night. I let him use my G2 with the small coil. I was using my big buck, go fast detector. I smiled when I hit a few deep signals that I was sure he had missed. We dug 20 Wheats in a front yard. Most were war years, '42 - '47. The oldest one was a 1916. Just about dark he was struggling, trying to find a target. I ran the big detector over the spot and got nothing. I borrowed back the G2 and went over the spot. I got a screaming signal from it. Took the digger, dug down four inches or so and pulled out - - - a very thin stamped disc of play money. I guess it gives me another excuse for having several detectors. Sometimes they do things just differently enough to be the perfect detector for the occasion.
