G2 the Button & relic vacuum

Digger70pa

I found these relics this weekend with my G2. The little machine that could.

Its my go to machine now. Put a big after market coil that FT doesn't offer & look out. The G2 is a awesome machine.

Real quick question for you Digger70. I absolutely love the first generation XLT for relic hunting, except it seems to pass up buttons...(we have a program that does great in CW/relic areas) but am wondering what, if any, means of expression that your G2 does for you in your relic hunting? I am seriously debating getting a G2 as a backup relic (maybe even become my "go to machine" in the future), as I am reading that the G2 is "quieter than the T2Se, F-75 detectors, etc.

Thanks,
bubbadirect

The G2 will do flipps over the XLT. the G2 is quiet sensitive & deep with a big coil on it. I may be at fault here because I really don't use the stock 11" coil much. I hunt relics & want the deepest set up possible. Oh it has great seperation, sensitivity to small targets & it's as deep as my T2se in sertain situations. You can't go wrong with this detector seriously. Great machine that's all I can say. You will not be dissipated if you get one. Its a button hog for sure. I hope you get one they are the bomb buddy. Any way happy hunting & good luck. If you do get one be sure to post you finds here on finds.

Oh I forgot it will find deep coins.

Thanks again digger! Which larger coil do you use then? The 13 inch detech or an SEF?

THanks again!

I use the 13" ultimate coil & the 15" NEL Attack.

thanks again! I have been reading good stuff on both those coils. Which of those 2 do you prefer? I'm sure they both have pros and cons.

Thanks again buddy!

Well the ultimate coil is light weight. The NEL coil is heavy but has more coverage & depth. You can get a ultimate coil from kco & the nel you have to buy from the Ukraine. Both are good build. The nel has kind of funky taper to the ears where the shaft attaches to the coil. I wish First Texas would make a big light weight coil for this detector. I would buy on for the new G2 coming out soon. Hope I could help buddy. HH
