G2 Pistol Grip vs. GB Pro S-Rod

What's the general consensus on these two shaft configurations from both an ergonomic and control housing mount stability perspective? In other words, which configuration do you prefer and why?

I like the GB s rod because of the head being mounted more secure. The G-2 handle/head is not very strong in my opinion......Mark

Couldn't have said it better! And really if you think about it the GB has to be a handle lighter than the G2. (couple ounces maybe)

I have seen a couple of the 'S' rod models with a housing that's a little 'loose', but more often it has been and Omega or G2 rod/grip system. Not that often, but it does happen an can occur with either design.

Personally, I like the feel of the Omega and G2 sand-up grip design, but I came to like it on the T2, and they use the same grip system. For me, and many I know, they favor the G2 and Omega over the other models who use the 'S' rod. In the case of the Fisher Gold Bug / Gold Bug Pro / Gold Bug DP and the Teknetics G2 ... the consumer gets to pick what seems to feel best for them.

Well----As far as looks goes, the pistol grip on the G2 may look a little sexier--uhh, I mean "classier" than the GB S rod grip---but---I like the S rod grip the best.-----Reason being, (to me) it just feels better on the swing AND the control box is tighter/more secure mounted on the shaft with this configuration.------One other thing that hasn't been mentioned here----you can easily take the control box off the shaft of the GB S rod & chest mount the control box for water hunting (providing you are using the long cable 5 X 10" DD coil).----You can't do that with the pistol grip G2.----------Del
