Went back to my iron patch of a construction site today. Had my best coin day there yet-3 indians and a National Billiards Co. good for 5c token.
I did a little audio test by putting a wheat penny on the ground. Found out that with the sens. way down it didn't sound like much even on top of the ground.
Kindof like a little half inch piece of wire or something. Then I turned the sens. up to 100 and it sounded great. I spent the rest of the day with it on 100.
That's 100, with the stock coil in an iron infested site and it still picked out stuff like you wouldn't believe. Now that makes me wonder about the sens.
Is this actually sensitivity or not? It seems like the separation is still great at full sensitivity. Doesn't make sense to me. Now if it's preamp audio gain I'm adjusting
then that makes more sense. Just turning up preamp gain shouldn't affect separation. Anyone know what that left knob really does?
