I'm thinking to upgrade my fisher f2 with the DD coil soon...
Want to use it some times in wet salt Sand.....
saw one new for $699

Its an excellent machine. You can use the Search function here to look up G2 info. You need to enter it as..... Teknetics G2 .......in the search box.
Select .....exact words...... all dates ..... from the drop down menu boxes

Performance - G2 vs Gold Bug DP
For those of you who have used both, I am interested to learn what, if any performance differences exist between the new Teknetics G2 and the new Fisher Gold Bug DP (Gold Bug Pro w/ 11" DD coil).

For example, I have read that the G2 has a razor sharp modulated tone on items down to ~ 6" and a VCO tone on items deeper than 6". Does the Gold Bug DP perform the same way or does it have VCO tone for all target depths?

Any other performance differences noted between these two machines would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Best regards,

Performance is the same. Differece is in mechanicals, which searchcoils come standard, and in most cases which dealer you're buying it from.
