G2 and goldbug pro

I wanted to get the g2 and get the 5" coil but I found the gold bug pro with 2 coils for the same price as g2, so I'm thinking why not just get the GB pro

You ask a very valid question, Al...the answer is -- there's no real reason to get the G2 in this case, unless you like the style of rod that comes with the Gold Bug Pro alot better. Otherwise, this one's a no-brainer...performance-wise, the G2 and Gold Bug Pro should be identical (same electronics).

I have had a couple ATPro's, Question when using the GB Pro does it grunt in iron lime the ATPro or does everything sound the same? Thanks

AL -- the Gold Bug Pros/G2s have a neat feature called "adjustable tone break" -- which means, you set the level, below which will be a "low tone," or "grunt," and above which will be a "modulated high tone" -- modulated meaning it is louder with shallow, large targets, and gets progressively quieter the deeper (or smaller) your target is.

The "top" of the iron range on these units is roughly 40; many people will thus set this break around "40" -- making anything below 40 a low-tone grunt, and anything above a modulated high tone. The audio of these units is really good; you get alot of information from the audio once you learn the unit...

prefer the rod system on the G2. Although they com stock with different coils, you can easily snap up a G2 with the 5" DD instead of the stock 11" DD.

Questions? Shoot me an e-mail to: monte@stinkwaterwells.com and I can answer any question you might have about the G2 and the audio response, coils, etc.
