So while I have been fighting to get myself back online with the computer, my Pentax optio came. Today was not a very photographic kinda day. Makes for moody pictures.... Anyway, Hit the beach at 0900 for a 1000 .5L. A lot of sand around, The mild conditions seem to be pushing up quite a bit. Worked the Excal in all metal. First 45 minutes and scored a quarter and a nickle. Both over 12". Hit a mid depth sounding target, right in the edge of the surf. At about 9" the tone disappeared. Dumped my scoop up the beach, and caught a glint of gold showing thru the sand. Out pops a mens 3.0g 10k ring w/ 3 small chips of Ice. I start making perpendicular runs in and out of the surf. About 15 minutes later, a nice low tone that says "this is gold". A ladies 4.3g 14k wedding band is in the scoop. Another 10-15 minutes go by, and I get a signal that was deep and a little broken. 12" later, and I am holding a 6.7g 14k mens wedding band in my hand. Not that I wasn't saying my thank you's already, but after 3 rings you know I was giving thanks. No more rings to be found, just a junk hoop earring and some really deep clad. Bailed at 1130, Hungry and Happy..... 14grams total..... Not bad for 2.5 hours.
