Used the Cen-Tech base meter last week with my WV and Va hunt.No re-calibrated adjustments needed the whole time found a 1936 Dime that required a wiggle and some deep wheat's.Searched with my two brothers and uncle.Bad trip had a severe cold the entire trip.Notice the photo of my two Sovereigns the Cen Tech is a very clean uncluttered mount.Later Ron

Nice looking Meter Ron.. Glad it is working well for you.

Elton,I'm going to keep the Blackburn for now.The Cen-Tech is much lighter but is more fragile and requires extra care.I do notice the better balance and less weight with the smaller meter no more cord wrapping and clutter. The pot knob on the Blackburn if brushed up against anything will require a recalibration the small meter does better with the internal pot.

When switching back to the Blackburn meter I do notice the extra weight. The Sovereign control box is a real pain to slide back together after installing the inlet plug.At this time the Cen-Tech meter has a lot of promise but put together wrong won't work.

I'd use a pass thru female/male coil connector or a short piece of coil cable with a male on one end and a female on the other. Tap the ID pins inside that for the meter and run a plug to the meter. Now you just swap coils in regular fashion with no need to get inside the box or to splice into the coil's cable like they used to do.
