Elki, Where did you hear the 1-2 week time frame for the 13" Detech coil? I have one on order, but the people I spoke to at Kellyco said they did not have a estimated arrival date for the coils.

I'm still waiting to hear on the FBS machines if the 13" coil is deeper than the 12x10. They are performing field tests right now about this in those forums. Many Explorer or Etrac guys say the 12x10 is a good 1 to 2" deeper than the ProCoil, besides seperating better, and that they dig less false coin hits with it than the Pro Coil because the 12x10 is more stable. If the 13" coil is deeper, here's hoping that Detech makes it for the Sovereign too. I would think they would, since they are even making that coil for the M6 and MXT, and there's got to be more Sovereigns floating around out there than those machines. Only question, if the 13' is deeper, is whether it will hold that kind of depth against a smaller coil like the 12x10 in mineralized ground. As I've said a billion times before, the 15x12 got less depth than the 10" Tornado or 12x10 in my soil. Just seeing too much ground matrix I would guess, causing the target to degrade. I believe the 12x10, since it has such a tight left/right detection line width wise, rides on less ground than even say the 10" Tornado...So it allows higher sensitivity and is more stable in bad ground, and isn't prone to washing the target signal out with the ground matrix it's soaking in.

Bryce Brown has done a field test on the Detect 13 inch coil. Pg. 2 Explorer forum. Good information for those thinking about purchasing this coil. HH :minelab:

Hi SOFCHAK, I place the order for that 13" last friday and the sales person from Kelico said that they were specting a large order within 2 weeks this means 1 1/2 week from now if things have not chage, I dont remember his name but he did said that may order was the 22 ordrs placed and waithing for it.
I always deal with Leilani at Kelico but this time she was busy so this guy took my order and when I place the order he put me on hold to check the abaliavility of that coil at that time and it is when he said that they were on back order then he talked his purchase person and they said were camming in 2 weeks.
and yes I'm waithing for it to give it a try, my machine is still inside the box brand new.

They told me 2 weeks in March. its almost 2 months since I ordered my 12x10. I got the ship notice a couple days ago. I had called prior for the sale price and was told I got it, but my invoice said different. I called...they fixed, no probs. But make sure you get the sale price.

Ism, I'm counting on you and others who get the 12x10 to give us your opinion of it in terms of seperation, depth, stability, and so on. Of course I already own one but I like to hear the opinions and field tests of others.

I will critter as soon I get it and have the time to go out. bytheway last weekend I when out with the 15X12 SEF and I find a ring about 13" it was confusing because it give me a solid soun and 175-176 on my meter (180 Ron's meter) it is not gold or silver but it is big and havy, for a moment I was going to give up because I was not able to get it with the S1 probe but after 9" dip I got a tone from the probe, when I look at it my hard start pumping hard but it was not gold. by the way this is my 3rd ring in 2 times that i go out and all at more than 8" but no silver coins or gold rings yet. that same day I find a metal cover like 8"X12" and it was almost at 16" but this time I starter getting tone with the probe at 5" and the numbers at the meter were at 177, 178,179, 180 and a times was at 181 but for some reason when I got about 10" dip it change to 165-169 :( Wy do you think I got that high of a number on a big rusted Iron plate?
any way I'm very impress by the depht and performance of this 15X12 SEF coil, I found a little harth shape gold pendat of the size of a pea at about 5" and for that I got 88-89 solid on the meter when I got it out I was surpriced because of the size and depht.
my next plan is to get a camara to take pictures and post them here.

Yea, the SEF coils seem to be more sensitive on small targets. Sounds like you are getting really good depth on the 15x12. When I had one it seemed to max out at about 8 or 9" on a coin sized target in my soil, but did get deeper than stock in sand. Most be my ground minerals.
