Let it go and it will float right to the surface. Might not be a big deal for some but maybe a concern for others.

Not a lot of targets to dig today but I thought it did pretty well. Pinpoints pretty well and depth was good. My hunt was cut short by high winds and waves but I will definitely use it more in the water in the next few days.

You mean it actually looks like it does in the original ad...... floating horizontal on the surface???

Never saw the original add for the coiltek coil. All I can tell you is it must be held below the surface. If you loosen your grip on the handle the coil will float to the surface. The coil must be held down with a small amount of pressure in order to hunt. It's not like an Ecal or CZ coil. They don't have to be held down. Loosen your grip on those and the coil will stay on the bottom.

Well, I snorkel hunt and know for a fact that the CTX with the stock coil will float to the surface until the battery reaches the surface and the coil stays down....additional buoyancy with the coil would make it float horizontal on the surface like the original CTX ad....not never meant a Coiltek ad....

No holes, it should float.

Holes have nothing to do with it. It depends on what's inside the coil. Most coils are foam filled, water hunting coils are supposed to be filled with a much denser foam so that the coil is near neutral.
