Thank you so much for these videos. Not only can I see how the detector I'm getting operates but also the others that i may someday can afford.

Well Mr Edmonton you've gone and done it again , another fantastic post. Where do you get these videos from ? I live int the UK and recently bought an Ace250 , but unfortunately didn't come with the dvd.Not only have i watched the 250 vid but all the others as well (like the look of the gti2500) you should be on commission from Garrett....keep up the good post's , cheers Steve :clapping:

I have thought about becoming a dealer, but I already have a lucrative career in health-care, and becoming a dealer would take some of the fun out of detecting.

It's always good to see a preview of something you are considering to purchase. I have been a Garrett user for many years, and Garrett detectors have served me very well! :)

I bought a GTI 2500 thinking because it was the best, it would be the best for me. Well I have been playing with it for over a year now and have been thnking about selling it and getting one that is alittle easy to operate. But, now that I have seen the video of the GTI 2500 here, it shows me how to tune my detector to my preferences that the video that came with the GTI 2500 did not. Thank you very much for your post....

That's the dvd that came with my GTI 2500 that I bought last year.

You should be proficient with your detector in less than a year. A lot less. I find the GTI even easier to hunt with than the Ace 250 after getting used to all the controls and settings which confused me at first too. The pinpointing is much better on the 2500. Imaging is extremely helpful. Try hunting someplace easy, like a beach or playgound with sand or barkchips, that has a lot of targets to recover. Try to hunt for at least 2 hours. Set the 2500 in coin or jewelry mode with sensitivity at 6 or 6.5. Dig everything size A,B, or C and pay careful attention to what the 2500 tells you it is. Practice pinpointing. If you can manage 2 or 3 hunts of 2 or 3 hours each on 2 or 3 successive days I bet it will click for you. Play around with the settings like volume, tone, threshold, and imaging/treasuretalk until you find out what works for you. Bump up the sensitivity as you get better.

Personally, I will never hunt with another detector unless my 2500 needs to be serviced, or I fly someplace to detect, in which case I would probably bring something lighter and less expensive. Or until Garrett builds something better.

Which coil do you have?

Chris

The 550 vid was new to me and I enjoyed viewing it. Thanks John.
