FX-1 probe on a G2???

Jason oldsouth

New member
Hello Guys. I am new to this forum and had a question. Does the FX-1 probe work on a G2??? Sorry to ask a question that has been asked in the past, but it has been several months, and the post is a little old. I was wondering if anyone else has been using one on their G2? Or, if any of the original posters to the original question found any issues with performance over the past few months. I have read the Sunray disclaimer, and understand why they say that even if it will work. Just wanted the latest info before I spent all that hard earned $$ on something it was not designed for. Thanks for all that take the time to answer a new forum member's question.:)

morelic55 used one on his and said the FX-1 worked fine. He did have the probe for sale and his G-2. Send him a PM and he can tell you all about using the FX-1 on the G-2. May save you some money as well. HH :teknetics::minelab:

No it will not.

Thanks for taking the time so far to answer me guys. Just a little more confused now because I read older post with just as many that says yes it does work, as some that say no it will not work.
Unless there is differences from one G2 coil to the next G2 coil which I don't think there is. I guess I'm just wanting something to badly LOL. Maybe Sunray has one in the works SOON???

I do remember a guy having one on his machine now. I would call Ralph at Sunray and just ask him.

I believe Dave Johnson's pinned post at the start of this forum on F-coils would apply here as well.

That is a short good read Tom! Thanks for the direction on that. Makes good sense. Must not be that much subtle performance deficiencies if all that tried it says it works. I may just have to scratch around and find a good deal on one until / if a G2 probe comes out.

Just wanted to follow up with my findings on the FX-1 probe. I happened to find a good deal on a nice used probe. It works perfectly!!! There is 100% target response. All targets air tested the same on a ruler, with, or without the probe in line. So, I must agree with those that have tried one also. Targets responded in the 3-4" range which is as good as it gets!! The FX-1 probe works 100% fine with MY G2. This is gonna be a good combo.

Thanks for all that posted on this thread.
