"FVM" belt buckle...

OK I have given up on finding a "MVM" belt buckle, I tried and tried but to no avail. Sooooooo I feel i must set my sites slightly higher... I am going to pack all my belongings into a bag that fits in the overhead compartment and fly down to the Miami area to hunt for a Florida Volunteer Melita (FVM) belt buckle... Now before you all say "Is Waldo Whacked Out Of His Head? Ain't No Such Buckle Ever Been Found." Just remember, no one ever found a MVM belt buckle before Mr.Cross... So What i need to know is... Do i put the water machine in the overhead compartment or in the belly of the plane. Regulations found on the Internet say nothing about metal detectors but they have a whole page on what kind and how much personal lubricants you can bring. Also is detecting legal along the beaches near and in Miami? And most importantly will the Florida sun make me as handsome as the Governor.

It's a lot less hassle to just break down your machine and pack it with your clothing as checked baggage.

You can hand carry it on an airplane. Folks travel all the time with detectors .... security folks see them a lot. They may make you turn it on or open up the battery compartment .... or they may just wish you luck in Miami.

In Florida all beaches and water can be detected unless someone like Mel Fisher has secured treasure salvage rights from the State or it's a government installation like Cape Canaveral.

In Miami, I think at South Beach (SoBe), guys are using a mask, snorkle and weight belt to detect primarily at low tide out from the beach where the coral reef begins. Jewelry usually washes up to this area and is stopped by the shells and rocks. They get a signal then fan the area with their coil or foot and look down to see the target. Some of them drag a scoop too. They work water deep enough to be just at walking depth where the snorkel won't fill with wave water.

Florida East coast beaches generally have some big waves so working in deeper water befre the waves crest makes sense.

Now, about the sun's effect on you ..... it will make you red and "ouchy" ... so put on lots of high # SPF sun slather. Good luck.
