FUTURE OF NOKTA&MAKRO

Nokta Detectors

Active member
Copying from another forum:

Hello everybody...
I have been in the UK since Monday and just got done with Detectival this evening.

I have been reading some of the posts and comments and I figured the best way to address some of the questions you have would be to start a new thread so it is easier for me to follow them.
Please understand that I have always tried my best to be as transparent as I can while writing on these forums and sharing info.

First of all, Detectival has been great (except for the timeframe where I was literally buried underground).

Yes, we did announce a few products there and I will just try to give you a short rundown here and then I can answer any questions you may have...

Please note that we just announced the merger of the brands moving forward… this means we will no longer produce products under separate brands… soon we will consolidate the websites/Facebook pages and all. This is all done with the best intentions to simplify everything for our dealers, our valued customers ...and for Nokta&Makro to be able to focus more on developing new technologies and products rather than trying to provide products for 2 brands. You all pretty much know the history of our company - 4 years ago Nokta & Makro companies merged..but we had to keep the two brands separate as the distribution channels were different in many countries around the world. So we had to feed the two brands with products....since the merger of the companies, I personally have been trying to push both brands thru the same channel so we could eventually combine them...But believe me guys it took me 4 years to finally achieve this goal and consolidate the brands--... some of you guys, naturally, only look at what is happening around you in 1 country only! But please do not forget that we deal with the whole world.... in many countries around the world, especially in non-English speaking countries, customers are not even aware that Nokta&Makro has been the same company for almost 4 years now... just to make my case clear I will give you an example - we started working with a new reseller in one of the Asian countries - when we were discussing our first order, the dealer listed the Makro products he wanted and when we asked about Nokta, he said - no, thank you Makro is a better brand..no matter what we said, we could not make him understand that it is the same company, same engineers and same sales team. Another and a similar example is that while I was attending a dealer day in a another country, I was told that customers in that specific country believed Nokta was Lexus and Makro was Toyota... funny but real…what I am trying to explain you is that while some of our releases upset a few people, please try to look at it from our point of view. We had to produce products for both brands ..and because we release them at a faster pace than what the customers in certain countries, such as the USA are used to, I am aware of the fact that it upsets certain customers. If you look at the manufacturers in any industry today, whether it is the cars or cell phones, they constantly offer new products because development is an ongoing process and demands and needs differ from individual to individual, country to country… Now, if as a manufacturer we are to be blamed for listening to our customers and for developing products and offering them pretty fast, then yes we are guilty ….but also very proud of our really hard work and our worldwide increasing brand awareness.

With the consolidation of 2 brands, we are discontinuing a few of our products (Golden Sense/Velox/ Fors Series) and start with a new fresh product line up on our new website soon -

The Anfibio Series - I see that there are positive and negative comments on this one - now to clear it up - Guys, no need to get upset – we did not go to Detectival and create any hype – we sincerely shared what we have in the pipeline with everybody – did not make any claims other than what we have been told by our testers, did not say it will obsolete anything, and neither did we ask anybody to sell their newly bought Impact and/or Kruzer to buy the Anfibio. If you are happy with your Impact or Kruzer – please keep it and we will be more than happy.
Anfibio will be distributed to dealers next month… once it is in the hands of the users, you can decide for yourself whether you want it or not. Anfibio comes with our new design coil + 7 optional coil to choose from – And yes they are all compatible with the Kruzer series! Among the 7 optional coils – we will offer a new 9’’ concentric coil which many users have been asking for!

The Scuba Pointer - Scuba Detector + Pinpointer - patent pending, 2-in-1 device and it is pulse.

Simplex - Entry Level, Waterproof (fully submersible) with built in wireless module - 2 versions between $249 - $399. This will be the first waterproof detector at this price point.

Our future simultaneous multi-freq. device - planned to share the design / form of the enrty level one (with slight changes) as the form is pretty light and compact -- looking for inputs/feedbacks in terms of what the customers would like to see in this device – unique ideas/features or anything that you believe is currently lacking on other simultaneous freq. devices.

I will stop here as I have slept a total of 6 hours in 3 days but will answer any questions you have… thank you all!!

Looking forward to seeing all future products.. I for one like the pace you release new items..

Dilek, keep doing what you are doing..............................

I will repost in part what I posted elsewhere to help clear up some misconceptions.

"If you have invested in the Impact and find it fine as it is and don't need waterproofing. Stay with it and buy the new search coil that comes with the Anfibio.

If you found the Multi-Kruzer a bit lacking in features, might be a reason to upgrade. If not, buy the new Anfibio large search coil.

If your buying as a first time Nokta/Makro customer, then by all means grab the Anfibio and when the smaller search coils are made available, invest in one or two.

I think Nokta/Makro have some interesting surprises up their sleeves. They are fast tracking to Saturn, while other manufacturers are just figuring out how to get off the planet.. Since many of us are getting older, running out of time, maybe Notka/Makro may still show us something exciting in our lifetime...........have to give them a thumbs up"

And now that guys know there will be 7 coils plus a 9" concentric in the works. There will be a coil(s) to meet most everyone's needs.

The Anfibio, suits my needs well, thank you Dilek for allowing me to be a field tester. I will continue to enjoy it...........

What's new an unique with the Amfibio coil? What benefit will my Multi Kruzer receive from it?

Some folks prefer round shaped coils to the 7X11 elliptical DD coils, and I am one of them. Performance wise, I think it can provide a little edge in depth over the standard Kruzer / Multi-Kruzer coil. Matter of fact, every detector in my 'Team' sports a round-shaped coil, Concentric or Double-D, with the exception of my FORS CoRe models. One has the 'OOR' coil, which is just slightly Out-Of-Round, and the other has the open-frame 5X9½ DD which is my favorite mid-size elliptical coil.

At what frequency will the Simplex model run ? Will it be a one coil model or will different coils be available for it ?

That's a very interesting price point for a fully submersible model. Great for somebody who doesn't do water detecting very often or would like to give it a try.

I think the merger is a great idea. I've always wondered why you were functioning under 2 names. Now I know. I read your post but nowhere is it mentioned what the new company name will be (or did I miss it ?) Nokta. Makro or ???

Hello Dilek,

I posted this on the Makro forum as well.

Hope you've been able to get some sleep as Detectival wraps up in the UK.

Questions for you. There are separate distribution channels for Nokta and Makro. Will dealers in the United States currently selling just Nokta models have access to all of the Nokta / Makro detectors going forward and vice versa. Will those selling just Makro, have full access to the new lines of detectors as well?

Will there be any change to Repair Centers?

Have price points been set yet on the Anphibio series of detectors? Any price breaks for those of us already using a Nokta or Makro detector (or both, I have one of each).

Thanks as always,

Rich (Utah)

Thats awesome news, Nokta & Makro really do have something different and are ahead of the pack in alot of areas. My interest in the hobby has grown more bc of the company's excellent products and customer service. Keep up the great work, you guys have my business for life.

It really makes me sad that Nokta is retiring the Fors line, especially now that I just got one. But I don't understand them keeping the CF77, which seems to me to be a simple version of the Velox. Though, the CF77 seems to be a very capable machine from what I am reading about it.

I recommend you grab up the coils you want and don't sweat the discontinuation of the FORS machines, they are well built and should hold up for the long run. As long as they are working well in your hunting scenarios its no big deal. If you anticipate any shallow water detecting in your future or being out in the pouring rain you may want to consider the Anfibio instead of the Impact, if you only hunt land in fair weather then a used Impact with accessories is a fine option. Due to the long hot summers we have had up here in BC for the past few years I intend to start water hunting June through August as it is just too dry and hot to hunt otherwise except in the woods.
Cheers,
Drew.

Thanks for the advice. I have the stock 11x7, and the 5", just got the 10x5.5 concentric for the Gold+ (arrived today). I would also like to get that 15x13 (I think that's what it is). Are there any others I should consider? I would think that with those 4 I would have everything pretty covered.

Hi Silver,

I reckon that selection of coils will serve for almost any detecting scenario I can imagine.
I have some large coils but seldom use them. I mostly reserve them beach and large open areas with very few targets and little trash. Too many objects under your large search coil can render it almost useless. You have too many mixed signals reporting and most aren't going to be accurate.
Since you are relic hunting that large coil you have your eye on may serve to help you cover large areas and find hot spots where you start getting more and more hits.. Don't forget to use your eyes for clues as well, pottery shards and other man made objects on the surface out in the middle of a large open area screams previous inhabitants were present.
Once you have found an area with promise switch to a smaller coil and pick a small section and start working a grid search pattern, North to South, then East to West, overlapping your swings each pass. If you find that the site is producing keepers, you can do a diagonal pattern from one corner to another.
Once you have worked it thoroughly digging as many targets as you find until it goes quiet switch back to your large coil and use deep mode and go slow to see if anything was hiding down deep.
hope that helps,
Cheers,
Drew.
