Future Explorer II Owner

I will be receiving my new Explorer II on Friday and I'm really looking forward to it. I've been detecting for less than a year with a White's MXT and I like it alot. But the idea of multiple frequencies and the other advantages of the Explorer II were enough to make me wonder what deep coins I may be missing. I have been reading as much as I can about the XII on the net and I want to commend you guys for this forum. I'm sure that I'll be a bit confused at first but thanks to you fellow detectorists in the forum, I know that I'll enjoy the heck out of it. You can be sure that you will be hearing from me again. Have a good day.

the E2 offers, especially all at once. Go with the factory defaults till your comfy. Then try one new option at a time and before you know it you'll have your own preferances and finding good targets at depths you can't believe.
Whenever you feel overwhelmed, this is the place to come, HH

Thanks houndawgg, I'll be sure to take your advice. Pete

Pete,
I also have an MXT and just got an Explorer II last week. For the first couple of hours stay out of the trashy areas or you'll go crazy. Once you have a little time and understand the sounds then try it in the trash and you can pick out the sounds. I started in a trashy area and nearly threw the detector a couple of hundred yards. Once I got into a clearer area with fewer signals I started learning what was going on.
Also I got a Joey coil. Take a look at them at Doc's place. It's a 5x10 coil that is very lite and works great in trash. If you are lucky you can still get one of the last ones he has on his sell for $150.
HH,
Harold

Thanks Harold. What is Doc's place? Is it a website? If so, how do I link to it?
