Funny complaint from city workers

I know I can not be the only person to bring a metal detctor in the local city park. I was digging and looked up and was confronted by a big ol city police officer. He says a city worker called and said they were worried i was digging big holes. I assured him that was not the case and that i was not leaving any mess and he says he "doesn't see any problem" and left. I can not belive this ! has anyone else had any run in before? I told him all i was finding was small change and beer tabs and he chuckled and left.

this is funny I think:)

Maybe the city worker wanted that area for himself to detect so he got the police involved.

It sounds like the city worker has had problems with idiots using back hoes to dig for coins in the park & just wanted to make sure you were not the one.

Welcome to the Brave New World of urban detecting. There is nothing funny about it.

In this post-911 world you ARE being increasingly watched. Independent action in the pursuit of happiness is subverted on behalf of the common good and security for the herd.

Ever heard of a guy named Aldous Huxley? Maybe you've read George Orwell? Its time time to act on your own behalf, or see your hobby taken away.

Dahut there is nothing funny about it,the guy that minds is own business and doesn't bother any one is fair game today. We as metal detectorist are fair game,to those who that don't like us for what ever reason, our looks, the fact that we might be having fun, jealousy who knows.Lets face it we are out numbered and out guned so to speak. When it comes to all the stupid rules and regulations put in place to stop us from enjoying our hobby.likw where I live there are no laws against metal detecting in county parks but you cannot disturb the ground or environment in any shape or maner. And they thing we go around with shovels to do it.Its not funny at all
