Jim received permission to hunt this school site and has been tearing it up. He invited me to tag along yesterday, since new place are hard to come by I was eager to go! Plus I
hadn't seen my buddy Jim in months. Well since I had an hoar drive to get there Jim had an hour head start on me.. When I arrived he already had two silver Rosy's and a handful
of wheats..
I brought the E-trac and the explorer along. But since Jim was using his E-trac I was determined to out do him with the Explorer. And I started to catch up very quick... The wheat
after wheat. the place was littered with wheats. Finally I came across the the sweet sound of silver and uncovered a 1936 merc, then two feet from the hole pulled a 43 silver nickel
I kept on pulling more wheats and more wheats, I finally was able to squeeze another merc from the soil.. I was thinking good we are tied now on silver dimes.
Well as the day carried on,old age for Jim quickly set in he was ready to head out. I was running all over the place trying to sneak another silver in. wouldn't you know it,
Jim gets ten feet from the truck and starts to dig a signal.. The dog pulled a slick standing liberty quarter, I about fell over! He started laughing and I mumbled you suck a few times
under my breath .. I was all over that area hoping to find another, all I could come up with is more wheats and a deep piece of metal
The aces and pains really started to set in for Jim so we decided to head out...
I refused to be beaten tho, I headed back into town to hut up the city park where I had great success in the past.. I got there and my buddy Jack was already on the side of the hill
swinging away with his Explorer 2. I shot the bull with him for a sec then fired up my Explorer. The first target I got ended up being a nice rusty nail! I took 4 more steps and got a
definite coin reading. She was deep, I opened up the plug dug down and spotted a silver edge stating at me I called for jack to come over, I uncovered the dime which
happened to be a warn out 1916. I put the prob back in the hole just to check and I about fell over when it started screaming again.. I quickly uncovered another merc that was just a
inch deeper. And that was the end of my hunt.. I couldn't find another old coin to save my life lol I may have not beat Jims quarter, but I tried like hell lol
Thanks for looking everyone
