full coil cover for the etrac coil?

I remember seeing online somewhere that sold ...I think they called them coil plugs, but cant remember where.

Anyway, they are plastic coil plugs that you pop into the open spots on the coil to keep it from snagging on branches and things.

Does anyone know where to get these? I'm always getting things snagged up in the 11 inch coil through the openings.

Yeah, I had thought of that, but the ones I saw would probably look much better than what I'd make..lol:|

I have not seen plugs for the Etrac. I did get plugs for my Explorer and X-8, but I think they were made by Sunray.

I encountered the same problem when I first got my Etrac. Here in the desert Southwest, every cactus, stubble or rock snagged the coil and slowed me down even more than the slow swing speed I was already using. Then I put on the 4.5x7 Excelerator and never again put on the stock coil (except for park and lawn hunting - where stubble is not a problem!)

It occurs to me now though, that since I'm using a coil cover anyway, I could get some transparency plastic from a craft store, glue it to the coil cover and slide right across the stubble. This would still allow me to see through the coil while not getting caught on every irregularity on the surface! I am definitely going to try this on my 6x8 SEF! I had given up on it in the ghost towns just because of the snagging problem. Once the transparency plastic gets too scratched up to see through, it would be simple enough to cut off and replace!

Whoo! Now I'm all excited to try it! If the weather cooperates, I will let you know how it goes!
