FUJI 2600 PROBLEMS

I've had a Fuji 2600 for over a year and have been very pleased with the camera. It acted up the other day giving a "lens cover" error. I carried it into a large camera shop that carries that carries most brands, and they said this model was prone to that problem. The clerk bad mouthed the camera pretty bad. Anybody else have problems with the Fuji's with the sliding lens cover?
