FTP and confusing coil setup and cost (explain this one)

I now have a LRP that comes with the 11" DD coil. Finding a concentric coil is frustrating. The BH site says I can use a 10" elliptical concentric model 10coil-BH. I can find only one and it's when you purchase the Quick Draw Pro, it comes standard. A BH 10coil-F5 coil costs $169 that is used on the other pro line (Gold, Platinum). But you can purchase a Quick Draw Pro new for $229 that has the 10" elliptical concentric. Using these figures, the Quick Draw Pro is a $60 detector. Or there must be a substantial cost difference between the Gold/Platinums 10" and the LRP 10". I can't figure out which, can you?

To get a 10" coil, it makes more sense to buy a detector with one on it at $229 rather than just the coil for $169. And as more units sell used, it may be cheaper to buy a used unit than a FTP new coil.

That's why I was looking at the QDP. The 10" concentric a better coil IMHO. I bought a Omega 8000 instead but may still buy one as a back up.

I agree. I like concentrics better (DDs have their place though). I am going to buy a QDP and compare it to my F2. I love the F2, but if the QDP out performs or equals it, I will have 2 detectors that utilize the same coils, a plus over the F2.

There are a few things I really like about the QDP. It has volume control. It has notch. Overload, which for me tells me the target is near the surface or large. Pinpoint with the 5x10 is awesome. And zincs fall in the middle tone. Hard to believe all that for around 200$. I have talked myself in to buying one now. lol
