Frozen Ground/Your Solution

Any ideas on how to deal with frozen ground? Hot water, propane torches? Got my MXT in july and just started to get the hang of it when cold weather set in.

The only place to dig I've had luck with in freezing weather is a sand beach. Found a men's gold band in 18 degree cold last winter.

Hook up a hose to your hot water faucet and spray the yard for 2 hrs!

you'll just have to wait like the rest of us for spring!

I know you dont't want to hear this but the solution is patience. Spring will spring and all the treasures that are there now will be there when it thaws. However I know the feeling. When I got my MXT it rained continously for several days. HH, AF

Texas coast is calling...... I keep thinking I want to go to Corpus Christi and check the beach there.
Or Florida even.

I agree!
We are leaving for Florida Treasure Coast in April.
Anyone want to join me? Looking for a hunting partner.

I don't have any particular spot picked out. I have been reading up on the area and know the area between Sebastian Inlet and Ft. Pierce is the place for any possible finds relating to the Spanish Fleet of 1715. If I "only" find modern stuff, that is OK too. I enjoy beach hunting. Finding stuff is icing on the cake.
I know there are specific beaches along that stretch but I don't know which may be any better than the other.
If other spots are better, I am open to suggestion.
My goal is to find something valuable enough to be able to purchase a water detector without having to give up my MXT land detector. Otherwise I will not be able to own two detectors in this wife time.
We will drive there in our PU and 5th wheel so anywhere we can find a campground is good. As of now, we are planning for 2 weeks starting April 21. This could vary by a couple of days between now and then.

What part of FL is the treasure coast? I'm leaving for Coco Beach February the 15 and will be there helping my brother repair his condo from the last two hurricans. We have put aside time to go detecting. Any good areas around there? Thanks,Ron Z
