Froze my coil off!

Sunday morning was 33 degrees, heavy frost, went and hit that sportsfield I was at last Sunday hoping beyond hope the gate would be open. It wasnt,:sadwalk: locked up tighter than Leavenworth. Considered hopping fence and sweeping up all the coins I left there...not fair, not cricket, I wouldnt enjoy the hunt...so I didnt, but I did think about it pretty seriously! I mean really seriously! Like for about 2hrs! I got a bad pirate streak I'm trying to keep under control until I really need to employ it, I reasoned to myself, not worth it for a few dimes and nickels....I hoped maybe somebody would show up with the keys, and I would then sweet talk my way back in, and thats the only thing that kept me out!

So, I strolled around the edge of the large parking lot, the grass was heavy with frost as you can see...so I walked on the pavement and swept the edges so my feet wouldnt get soaked...I can say, I have had ZERO trouble in 4yrs putting this rig to this kind of abuse...I had it in the water up to the control box last week even, today just got clad, and a few odd sounding metal odds and bits, I was there for 3+hrs, not a monstrous take, but I actually enjoyed it, just strolling along....so not every day is a mega clad haul for the Mud is all I'm saying...and frost is a tough thing to shoot through, makes the signal very squirrely for some reason, and the coil gets heavy, hands get cold..but the sunrise was spectacular!....Looking back, it was a successful day... For that brief period I triumphed over the 'evil Mud' that sits on my shoulder and had a nice relaxing Sunday with the 'good Mud' and the 70....next week I may not be so presumptuous or high minded, heck, somedays I wouldnt put it past myself to hop a fence and hunt a graveyard!...I generally have a tough time controlling me, its getting better with age, but still...good thing the ethics this Forum promotes keeps a fellow like me in line, a guy dont want to dissappoint the brethren here just to rack up a heavy post..no amount of great finds is worth that...
