From the hunt

We had a very good hunt. The blue key token for a chest of silver coins was buried next to a nest of bees. A few people were stung too after the person recovered the key and ran. Bragging rights??? I guess I pulled the most with a value of $281.64 and went home. Nobody went home without a good proffit and we had a good time too. The lunch was great thanks to our cook Nancy. I looked online to get values for the coins and prizes. The maglite is $19.23,digger is $12.95 and the first aid kits were $8. Along with a 1/20 oz gold Panda at $119 and the silver won or recovered my total would make anyone happy. We will see if we can top it for next year. There is more young guns hunting and it's hard to keep up with them. By the way, I used the oldest detector with a Fisher 1225-X with 8 inch coil, audio only and bought in 1997. Not bad with a 15 year old detector competing with all these new machines with thier bigger coils. Experience and knowing your machine. BRAG BRAG BRAG.

It was a great hunt, with great food, on a great day for a hunt, with a great group of hunters. My take included these coins, a digger and hat from Whites and a hat from Minelab. I mean you can't complain when you find over 30 coins and least of those are 2 wheats. If you missed it, you missed out. My thanks to all. 363 days 13 hours and 21 minutes.

You guys are making me feel really bad, I didn't even find a single dime......... that doesn't mean that I did not have a great time though. There is a tremendous amount of satisfaction in hearing a whoop, yea, alright, the thanks and seeing all of the smiles on everyone's faces when they tally their finds. It makes the hunt all worthwhile for me to Chair an event of this magnitude and for so many hunters.

We owe a big thanks to Minelab and White's for their generous donations, Steve C for his help in planting over 700 targets in the ground, our club Chef Nancy for the eats, McLucky for handling the finances, other helpers and Wendy at Creative Collections, Peoria for the great deals she gives us on what we need for coins. Every one of them deserves a thanks the next time you see them. :beers:

I hope everyone had a good time and if you have any suggestions how we can make this event better next year, let your Board of Directors know. I'm beat and off to bed :goodnight:

Just got back from a quick little night hunt. 3 quarters and some junk. I will try to get pictures up by some time tomorrow night. WHAT A GREAT CLUB!!!! I had a lot of fun and want to thank everyone involved. And a big thanks goes out to Minelab and Whites for the awesome prizes that they donated. I hope to see everyone at the next club hunt!!

Thanks again for a great day of fun food and prizes. Nancy that pasta you make is amazing!! I ended up with 20 dimes, 3 quarters, 2 V nickels and 2 buffs (2 barber halfs as prizes). A treasure book by Andy Sabisch and a minelab hat (extra minelab hat went to Andrew to help his wireless 3030 headphones stay on his head ;) ).
My old man had a good time as well. He ended up with a few silvers dimes (not sure how many around 10?) a couple IH pennies and maybe 2 quarters.
I hope to get out and swing a bit this afternoon (that is if the pregnant wife does not have a long honey-do list since I was out most the day yesterday).

Have a great week!
Neil
