From Spain to the bean fields of Virginia:minelab:

Did some dirt digging today in my Buddy Andy's county. We both found silver, Andy found a 1914 Barber dime and other items. I found a Spanish coin (cut piece), buttons, key, buckles and bullets. We had a good time as usual and will be hitting the dirt again soon.

Thanks for looking..................John

Remember the old high school cheer, "2 Bits, 4 bits, 6 bits, a dollar..........? A "bit" would be about an 1/8 of the coin so 2 "bits" would be the equivalent of a quarter of a dollar or 25 cents and so on. Another old song some of you will remember......."Shave and a haircut.....2 bits !" Another example of how this little piece of colonial coinage worked it's way into our culture. Nice find.
