Man i was all pumped up , I figured i had a brass button , but it turned out to be steel, the poor farmers where so poor they could not aford to have pants with a brass button . nothing but iron today

Nice video. I get the same feeling when I'm detecting some of schools in the poorer part of town.

I have the same opinion when I am hunting an area that could have a possibility of some silver coins or a home/yard. I figure that folks back then were just as poor if not poorer than the rest of us and what money they had, they hung onto it better than we do today. Thanks for the video.

Here in my area we had at one time in the late 1800's and early 1900's 12 one room schools in our township alone. I have hunted all but two schools. Most were without coins at all. One we found over 40 IH's 15 assorted silver plus a whole lot more. One we found LC's and 20 assorted coins. I found out from older residents that the ones we dug lots of coins were the most attended schools. Old schools are my favorite places to hunt

My semi-stepdaughter would drive me crazy. If she had pennies ornickles she would chuck them. That was when she was i high school.
Now she has a job and has to pay rent and such and knows better...
Dumb kids....

Us farmers are so poor now we can't even afford pants.

Wow I still see you have some snow on the ground. Don't be so hard on yourself bro. Remember it is the thrill of the hunt. That button tells you someone was out in that spot and lost the button. Maybe the person lost a coin or two in the process.
