These photos contain what I have found with the 6" EXcelerator coil so far. The first picture is my first time out with it the first couple of days. I wasn't getting any depth. These coins were from surface to 4 inches deep. The second picture contains everything I have found so far. The grouping with the lock and the coins was from a couple hour hunt tonight. Most of the coins were between 4-8 inches deep, so I seem to be finally getting some depth, I guess. The lock was straight up and down and rang in as a dime. (I don't know what the little head is.) Plus, there is about 20 coins I didn't dig due to the fact that I was running two detectors at the same time to check accuracy. What do you think?

Looks like you are doing ok. I have an M6 not the MXT, but really like one feature above all else. The volume of the sound responding to the depth of the target. This volume will drop quite a bit depending on how high you have your Sensitivity set. I assume that the MXT behaves in the same manner?

Also, you may have a soil situation where there is very little sinking past the 4" mark.

My soil gnd stock coil mxt 62 to 88. 6" Excelerator gnd on mxt 62 to 88 setting sensitivity 8 to+2 discrimination 0 to just below nickel relic mode coin jewelry mode threshold little hum to quite sometimes trigger forward to knock out pull tabs or iron sound .Sometimes prospect mode.Mine has to be tuned for each area, sites i hunt are building from 60,s but land was used before that. These sights have been hunted pretty heavy.Pick up signals from 0 to 8 inches sometimes junk little deeper cans pieces of pipe chunk of aluminum.Wanted to know if people were doing better with there coil trying to see if it is working right. Thanks for your reply.Been on the forum for about 2yrs or more and been hunting for 10 to 15 years now i use whites idx or mxt or ace 250.
