From a hunted out school site...

It is just an empty lot now but the old school that once stood there dated back to the 1860's. I finally tracked down the woman who owns the lot. She said, "Oh, we have had lots of guys look and none of them have found anything. You can try if you want." It took me about half an hour to find the first IH. I ended up with four Indian heads, a well worn 1900 v-nickel, and four wheat backs (one turned into a wizzer). The 1866 is probably a $50 coin! The woman was surprised when I showed her my finds. I gave her one IH since she looked like she wanted one. Most of the coins were mixed in with iron or junk, it was thanks to the Explorer II/Sun Ray Stealth 8 combo that I found these. Some were deep at around 8-9". It was fun to hunt a new site.

Take care and HH - BF

For a site like that, you might consider opening up the screen and using ferrous sounds, recovering anything over 4 inches that gives a chirp. Be there's more there. Sounds like a fun place to play!

Nice, nice coins! That was a good idea to give an IH to that lady who owns the property. Maybe there are some other goodies like nice buttons, small toys, etc. Good luck & HH!
