My hunting buddy is my 9 year old Grandson. I have bought another Ace 250,for him to use[ from E-Bay] ?
We live in rural Pa. Here,they hold carnivals in the community park/ ball fields.
I took a few days of vaction,since he is now out of school, to take him detecting in some of these parks. The park we went to had a carnival last week. I figured he could come up with a few pennies or coins. We were there a bout a half an hour and i turn around and there is a fellow behind me ,with a cup of coffee. My first thoughts were i was about to catch heck ! Instead,the guy starts telling me how he use to detect this same field and the items he had taken from it. He thought it was funny,how my grandson was having a tough time trying to get a hit dug up. We laughed,but he got it out of the ground. It was a big hair pin type clip,like from a tractor lyinch pin. The man walked back to his house and left me thinking this is a nice group of people living here !!!!!
Friday the 13th, strikes ????? My real deal Ace 250,from E-Bay,won't turn back on,with out a tap on the yellow case !!!!!!!!! I should have known ???? Next,we are just making a pass towards a play ground and a pickup trucks screeches to a halt ! Out jumps this guy,yelling and screaming about something ?? I though he was going to have a stroke !!! My grandson is a little scared,at this guys yelling but stayed close to me. I am 6ft.1,215 lbs.of ex-coal miner,but mellowed out ? After i could figure out what he was screaming,it was about not helping clean up the park,after the Carnival and stealing all the coins,from there ! His 5 ft frame stayed 50 yards away. I was very nice,no yelling back nor curseing at him. He got into his truck and took off. I was hoping for the Police to come.The Police man is my grandsons football coach ! The guy kept comming back and driving around the park,so i decided to go.
On the way back to the car,i hit the dug outs,at the ball field. In the gravel,in the dug outs i had a few hits. A penny,a quater,and then a Suzey silver dollar,1979.
