Hey all, managed to get out and hunt last night after work. Decided to go back to the Masonic temple and see if I could find a few more silver goodies.
I began my hunt going over the area I've been concentrating on, the same area I pulled the Franklin half on Wednesday. First signal and hole dug was a wheatie. I said to myself, there's still goodies here I missed. Next non junk target turned out to be a '47 Roosie.
About an hour later and 2 additional wheats in my pouch I was ready to call it quits. It was getting dark and the mosquitos were getting to me. Before leaving, I decided to hit this 3 foot section of grass I never went over before because its wicked overgrown. I swing the detector over and it goes nuts. Big signal about 4 inches deep. I thought at first it was a can, but said better be safe than sorry. Cut a wide plug and stuck the Sunray probe in the hole and it was reading a half dollar. I got excited and pinpointed with the probe to be dead on. Glad I did because I pulled a sweet 1942S walking liberty half! I couldn't believe it, two days since I pulled the Franklin half and now I was holding my 2nd big silver for the year! I stuck the probe in the hole again and oh yeah, it had friends! Managed to pull out a '50 and '52 Roosies and 3 wheaties from the 40's. I'm starting to think this has never been hunted.
Went back there today and got a '57D wheatie and a couple memorials. Will be going back tomorrow with new settings and a grid pattern.
