Friday and Saturday at the river-112 coins total-6 rings & necklace & standing liberty quarter+ found & lost large cent

I went back to the river Friday and Saturday last week and had some pretty good hunting. If I had the sling I ordered, I might have spent more time looking for coins and rings than trying to hold onto my 2500.
Friday I found 63 coins: 5-quarters, 19-dimes, 11-nickels, and 28 pennies. 3 rings, 2 with stones & 1 chain necklace, but I think they are costume jewelry.
Saturday I found 49 coins: 14-quarters including a standing liberty quarter worn so much you can't see the date, 5-dimes, 4-nickels, and 26 pennies. 1-10K gold ladies ring with stone, and two other rings I'm not sure if they are costume jewelry or not. I also found a large cent, but while stuggling to hold my 2500 and work my scoop my headphone cord got under my little garrett bag and turned it upside down and I didn't realize the large cent tumbled out. I had the velcro closed, but it must have fell out of the corner of the bag. If it's in the water I will find it again. The only other possibility is that when I took my bag and belt off to go home I dropped it by the car. If that's the case, by find is someone's else's by now.
I went and bought a pair of chest waders and was able to get out further than the first few days just with the rubber boots, but it was cloudy and overcast and I had a hard time using my scoop because I couldn't see thru the water with the dark clouds. I tried my 5 X 10 DD coil and switched back to the 9.5 imaging coil and had better results. The DD coil is sure enough a bottle cap coil. The only thing I ran into between trying to keep from dunking my detector was the area I wanted to search the most was too deep for my detector. When the water got within two-three inches of my housing, I headed back to shallow water. I wanted to go back Sunday and Monday after I realized Saturday night that I had lost the large cent, but my Mama has been pretty ill Sunday and today and I had to take her to the doctor this morning. I hope to hit this area again in the early am and then she has another appoinment in the afternoon. The satellite people will be at my house either this Thursday or Friday to install my high speed internet and they start letting the water back in Saturday, so I have to cover a large area someway between Tuesday and Saturday. With the low amount of rain we've had since October, I hope it is delayed a week or at least 3-4 days.
Most of the coins I found were clad and the majority of those were pennies, but I have really enjoyed myself. HH

Anybody ever seen a pink diamond. That's what the stone in the ladies 10K ring I found looks like. It may be glass instead of a diamond. Hope to post some photos next week. If I can't repair my camera by next week, I hope to purchase a newer one.

I bet your having loads of fun hunting and scooping. Clean out that river, soon some of your equipment will pay for itself. Good luck !!

I fixed my camera and downloaded some photos to my flash drive off my home pc, which still does not have internet so I'm back at the library again. Here's a few photos of my total coins and jewelry finds. Sadly, I haven't been able to get back to this spot all week and when they let the water in, it will be too deep for my 2500. Here are some photos anyway.

The text for this post applies to the first photos. In the second post, the above photos are another shot of the 3 gold rings, 2nd photo is all the rings, chains or neclaces and a small truck I found which is the first one not to be missing some wheels, the next photo didn't show very well, but the last two are the standing liberty quarter

Photos 1,2,3 are of the little truck and #4 is a fishing lure I found. I found quite a bit of large sinkers and bullets, also. #5 is all the pennies I found and # 6 is the two 1944 wheat pennies I found. I found one of the 1944 wheats and the 1925 mercury dime where they tore down an old apartment store a few miles from my home.

I didn't get my text and photos on the same page the first few posts, but got it right on the last post at the bottom. Hope it doesn't cause any confusion. Thanks for looking and HH.

The 1942 quarter has a S mint mark and it looks like it could be worth more than the silver content. In the 2012 Red Book is shows the lowest price at $10.00 and the highest grade at $175.00. Of course I realize it doesn't grade that good, but I will hold on to it for now.
