Friction Primers

Canewrap

New member
Does anyone know approximately how long the twisted wire igniters were on friction primers? Also, does anyone have a photo of a spent one they can post? I'm trying to determine if
the twisted wire pieces I found could have been from friction primers or if they were from screen door hardware.

Here's some found where confederate troops were stationed to guard the R.R. bridge, the R.R. and telegraph lines.
