FRI HUNT SOME GOODIES AND A FIRST

Back at Burnet Woods hunting the woods. Hunting with the T-2 settings sens-99, disc-50, tones-1. First target was the 1943P war nickle, V.D.I 58-59 4'' down. Also found another star coin V.D.I 84-85 5'' down. 1946 wheat penny V.D.I 78 3'' down. Last 40 minutes of the hunt i switched tones to 3 and picked up swing speed a little. Got a V.D.I of 81-82 4'' down pulled out the 1 play money. Then got a high tone no V.D.I, moved the leaves and rechecked hole and got a V.D.I of 88 6'' down, out popped my first Standing Liberty Quarter 1926.

n/t

It helps a little when i'm just hunting coins, i can swing the coil a little faster and cover more ground, and only look at the display when i get a high tone. Tom

i use 3 tones in tot lots if i want to skip the zincs. they give a lower tone so i guess that the indian heads would too in the older areas.

Yeah with the early indian heads and flying eagles the V.D.I is around 65, later indians 1864-1909 made of bronze V.D.I is 78-79. Tom

i've never found any of the older indian heads. the later ones that read 78-79 should give a lower tone like the zinc pennies do in 3 tone.

I'm going back to Burnet woods today and try the 4 tone with the second high tone for those targets in the high 70's range.

Nice Finds !!! congrats :detecting:
