Fresh Water

Hello I am looking for some advice I have a dual surf pro pi and it works super in salt waiter was just wondering does whites make one for fresh water with dis on it?

Have you tried the dual surf pro pi in fresh water? The new whites pi advertised with discrimination is not water proof.

I have a Sandshark (a pi detector) that I have used in both salt and fresh water. Behaves the same in both environments. Unless you have a lot of iron in the fresh water area you are hunting, I'd say take the dual surf pro pi and see how you do.

I tried it in fresh water but people on the forum told me i was a gluten for punishment so I thought I would get a different machine for water. I also use a Spectrum XLT and a MXT 300.

found the best in fresh water to be #1 Excal (tone ID) #2 Fisher CZ20/21(tone ID) .. #3 Tiger Shark (no ID)...#4 Fisher 1280X.(no ID)....fresh and salt water....#1 Excal...#2 CZ20/21....

A lot of Tigershark users swear by them for fresh water. I haven't used one, but before I got the CZ-20 and recently the Sandshark, I used my Cibola with good results in fresh water up to about 2 feet deep.

Which ever way you go, I wish you good luck with putting the coil over the good stuff.

Thanks for all the replies I think I am going to give my surf pro pi a shot in fresh water before I make another purchase.

I have three White's surf pi machines. A Surf pi that makes a sound like the old bfo machines. I really like it cause it is easy to hear with a hood on. A Surf pi Pro. A Surf Dual Field pi. None of these machines have seen salt water. All fresh water hunting. The Pro and the Dual Field will go damn near deeper than I can fan. No discriminate on these pi's. I have got gold with all of them except the Dual Field. Plenty of deep silver, tho. Also have a Tesoro SandShark with a seven inch coil which helps in the nail infested areas. Recently purchased a used TigerShark and sent it in to be reconditioned. Got it back, but the weather be getting cool here and haven't got to use it, yet. If you have the energy and strength to dig behind the Dual or the Pro, go for it.

Well weather permitting I plan on going into the water here fresh and salt before the snow flies I will post what happens planning on Thursday going to rain and be near 40 a heat wave after this weeks weather here in New Hampshire. Thanks for the info
