Fresh Water Loot - Part 2 - Today

Went back to the fresh water beach again today. Arrived about 9 AM. I worked in the water up to my neck today because I had mostly dry sanded last evening. I had finished working the main part and was on the secondary part of the beach when a Park Ranger motioned me in. He told me I needed permission and could only hunt between 8 AM and 11 AM because of the bathers. He was nice about it and told me how to contact the Park manager. Bummer! I felt like I was doing good today too. Oh, well. I'll go back and go through the proper channels. After packing up my gear, I went back to use the restroom and caught up with him again. I asked him if hunting was permitted all day on days it rains. He asked me, "How long did it take you to think that one up? I suppose that would be OK just check with the Park office." ALRIGHT! I don't mind hunting in a wetsuit in the rain. Less crowd and fewer questions. At least I had managed to hunt until 1:30. A good 4 1/2 hours before my encounter with "The Enforcer". Here's today total....

$1.50 in Quarters

$.20 in Dimes

.05 in Nickels

A key, a Hot Wheels car and a High School Class Ring. Does anyone know what the inside markings mean? I don't see any gold stamp.

I love the ring - nice!!

Some fresh water beaches I have a permit to says that the beaches can be hunted between 7 and 9 am between memorial day and labor day. Then it says daylight hours any other times. Get you permit and read up on it you might be surprised.
I have a permit to hunt another lake. It clearly states that I could hunt during the open beach hours. That's 9am to 9 pm. I started hunting it about a month ago. I pull in there at 9am and the guard shack guy says I can't hunt during open hours. I showed him where my permit said during OPEN hours. He said he would let me hunt when the park is closed. He told me to slip the $4.00 fee in the slot and park at the boat ramp. That is 1/4 mile from the beach! I told him strait up - I don't want to argue with you so that's what I'll do. So I hunted there the next two mornings. I got there at 4am with all my stuff and a head lamp. I stayed there until 9am and would leave. I posted some good jewelry finds with my "Lake Looter 250" a few weeks ago. Then I went back a week later at 4am. This time a Ranger showed up at about 7:30 am. He told me that the beach was closed and I can only hunt during open hours. I told him that I agreed with him but then told him the story. He then went to the trailer the guard shack guy was living in and came back and told me that it's straitened out now! He said to continue hunting and stay until 9pm if I wanted. Fast forward about 2 weeks - I went to that same lake on Sunday about 2pm and was just seeing where all the people congregate in the water and beach. Who do I run into - the beach bully! He didn't recognize me so I started some small talk about all the geese crap on the beach. Then I asked him if he ever metal detected the beach. He said Oh Yeah! I asked him what machine he had and what he's found etc. He has a land only detector. After all the small talk I told him that I was the one detecting the water at 4am. He said to me "have you found anything good" my response "trash, just trash" True story.
