Fresh Water Lake Hunting - Sunray Intruder S-12 or WOT ?

I'm planning to do a couple of days of fresh water lake hunting this weekend in the wet sand and in the water. Last time I was there hit a swimming hole with my Fisher F5 in just the wet sand and found a nice 14K gold ring, this time I want to use the Sov to go over the same spot (which should now be fairly free of trash from going over it with the F5) and then venture out into the water (I have the Sunray control housing pouch to keep the housing safe, unless I fall in ).

Anyone fresh water hunters have any experience with the Sunray Intruder S-12 or WOT ? Either one better then the other (I know the WOT is a LOT heavier) ?

Thanks,
Brian

The bigger the coil the harder it is to swing in the water. If thats not an issue for you the wot gives you more coverage, both give good sensitivity and depth.

iv owned both and like the S12 much better.on the beach..the WOT was very nose heavy and not as stable as the S12..i would not use eather of them in water,id go with the S8 in water...a lot less drag and pinpoints better!

Thanks Neil and Bling.

I don't have the S8 (I have the 8" Coinsearch, great coil, but not waterproof), so I'll give the S12 a shot. This is shallow fresh water hunting, so there's no weeds or current/waves to fight. I've heard the WOT is a silver magnet, but I've never had a good place to try it yet, as the turf areas I hunt are too trashy, the Sov would most likely be a solid null with a 15" coil (it came with the Sovereign I purchased along with the S12).
