I am new to water detecting. I just purchased a Fisher cz70 for land use. Is this a good machine to get in frersh water waist deep with. Do any of you use this machine? I dont hear much talk about the cz20, how is this machine in fresh water?
I have been reading this post for a while trying to learn from you all. Hopefully the Surf Gods will be good to me one day.
Thanks for your input.

chest-mounted. Found a few good ones that summer. When I got my CZ-20, I breathed a sigh of relief as I didn't have to worry about accidentally dunking my CZ-5. I've found SEVERAL good gold rings with it. Now, I realize that it is locked into the SALT mode, and thus, looses sensitivity to smaller gold, but, I am not really that hot-to-trot about finding the really tiny stuff. I don't mind that it's in SALT mode, as with all the iron in the ground here, it helps control the falsing.

I use to own a CZ20 and loved it. In fact I am just getting back in SCUBA and plan to buy another one soon.
