Fresh Rain Hunting Help

fastdraw

Well-known member
Getting ready to detect Northern Ca. I'm 200 miles from home with my Nox-600 ready to check out of this motel in an hour. BUT... It just stopped raining, and the soil is soaked..!
Is their any settings my Nox-600 needs to know..? Any false signal noises..?

Have fun. Turn it on and go find treasure

Rain dosn’t affect detecting.. No Lightning

A good Ground soaking rain could possibly enhance detection of targets.

This is true however iron targets tend to false more compared to dryer ground .I would prefer to hunt iron laden sites in dry conditions . If your not dealing with a lot of iron then depth on targets well be greater iron and coins . sube

Rainy days are great, know one to bother you and beaches and parks are empty no hot sun ground is soft. I actually watch the weather and plan my detect for rainy days. No Lightning though. I have a Gortex hat and jacket and don’t care if my pants gets wet. I use WMO8 with a cheap set of earbuds with wire clipped to my neck and wire ran inside my shirt down to my front pocket where I put my WMO8.
