Our Weather has been just awful for detecting, deep snow and dam cold, I was really bummed about not being able to hunt over the Holidays a lot more..had to get my fix by reading y'alls posts! Then, Sat it warmed up and commenced to rain! By this am all the snow was gone and it was a balmy, drizzly 48ish...Big onshore wind made hunting the Big Lake a no go, So I got in a dirt hunt! I really enjoy clad shooting in target heavy environments, but after 4yrs of this, my easy access areas have been harvested pretty heavily for all the shallow easy pickins in likely locations...

I was up super early, read the Forums for inspiration, saw where Asiandigger knocked the stink out of some clad, checked Mapquest Satellite and thought about where can I go that I havnt already been close by? I scoped out my usual spots, and after thinking about them, there was a few small areas I have not swept before that may be secondary or tertiary drop zones, so I plotted a fast run...I took the F70 and ran it hotter than normal so I could really fly and hear pings...grass was wet but flat from the melted snowcover, ground was very wet, unthawed, and stabbable, perfect for a guy with a screwdriver just interested in banging clad..

Grabbed 143 coins, for $15.49... 2 junk rings and a junk earring, and a plastic gold token (eyefind) at at few of my nearby spots...hit some schoolyards, sportsfields and totters, drove around the HS parking lot slowly looking for bills in the receding snowpiles, drank coffee, smoked, listened to the radio, had @3hrs hunt time to rack this up...Sun comes up at nearly 8, I was on my way home before 12..it felt real good, I didnt think I had this many coins or count, when a guy is stabbing and grabbing, a fellow loses track... I guess I missed a few along the way!... I hope we get a thaw in December, bottom is supposed to drop out again tonight back below freezing...I dont want to call it a year just yet, this year has been abnormally cold early...I may make another 'Southern Plunder Run' in December..thanks for all your posts and inspiration, Brothers! :please: Keep all of us 'dirt money' addicts entertained/motivated...I dont know what I'd do without this Forum, seeing all the sweet finds, and getting all wee-weed up to hunt! Maybe golf?

Great clad count there mud....i had 6 days off from work and only today was i able to slip away to play in the sand..i only got two junk studs ,bunch of earring backs and trash..you did well ....half of beach is frozen, half isnt...

Dang that's a lot of digging! Piling up the clad can finance some detecting goodies. I made a promise to myself start tumbling the clad...I haven't for about 10+ years...that double barreled lortone is going to get a workout this winter. Nice going and I hope you get some digging weather.
