Just for the halibut, I decided to try MDing with an old Minelab Muskateer XS that someone gave me. I usually use the Vaquero (14K) but decided to try the Muskie since it was 5 K and hunt for silver. I tried to DISC on high ( to get rid of most iron and aluminium, I tried hunting my field and found only some nails and a iron chain, so being on furlough (yes I am Gubment!) I went to a camp retreat ground I have hunted many times before. After about 2 hours I had found three 9 mm Luger shells, some clad, a bit of iron, 3 tabs, an old nail clipper and what appears to be a rusted bell, and was about to head back when I hit a silver rosie. Five minutes later I found a Merc under a root. Don't know if this had anything to do with the freq., but it made my day and I usually do not find all that much silver. I did find this gold chain tag with the initials (?) ACC, but on further examination it turned out to be gold filled (A & Z 1/20 12 KG) last week using the Vaq. Don't know if these results had anything to do with the freq. or just going over the object with the detector.
