I have an old cx master hunter 1990 year model , the frequency shifter is a good option for upgrade the cx?

The only thing a shifter is for is cross-talk between detectors and electrical interference and it only changes the frequency very slightly.

I picked up one some years back on E bay for $5... it's a "Ewing's Eliminator" and fits my GTA 1000 PM.
Experimenting in my test plot etc. it seems to offer just a tad more depth when on the #2 setting. At some of the higher settings depth is actually reduced.
They are fun to play around with, but not really worth the $50+ that they sell for new, but again, that's just my opinion.
