How does the Coinstrike differ from two or multy freq detectors like the DFX and Explorer. I understand that some of the fishers I own are two freq machines So what makes this coinstrike so different and so deep? Is is really as deep as I have read because that is what the forum of the DFX says and I had one and my CZ3 blew the DFX away on depth but the DFX sucked the coins up really fast compaired to the CZ I guess the is why I have a CZ3 and 70 pro the 70 acts a little more like the DFX it loves multy targets and does well in trash. I think the coinstrike would be my trash sweeper and my detector to unmask targets.

Hi,
the CS isn't like anything else ..period. It is so different from all the detectors you have used that you cannot make comparisons. It's a digital signal processing machine and that's the real difference.
The numeric ID readout is somewhat like your DFX...more like an XLT or Eagle readout. No zones, just numbers. The notches and tones use zones, but the numbers tell the tale.
You would love or hate the CS. Seems like folks are one way or the other about it. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> I'd say try before you buy.

I have never personally compared the C$ against an Explorer or DFX. On fringe targets the C$ will indicate the presense of something but the ID will not be accurate. Depending on where I am hunting I either dig them all or ignore them.
When it comes to extreme deep searching, the C$ only tells you that something is there. There are other detectors, the Explorer for example, capable of signaling deep targets but like the C$ the ID is not accurate. It all boils down to what you are willing to dig and what that particular site may hold as far as deep targets go.
If you really want to go deep, perhaps one of the single tone relic machines would work for you. There are several available that are very deep and since ID is not reliable anyway, they can make a good choice for some sites. A couple I use and trust are the 1270 with the 10.5" coil and the ML Advantage with either the 12.5" Excelerator or WOT coil.
