From the land of the Bluenose....after a hard night buggie bouying I was looking forward to sleeping in till at least eight but that was not to be as Marie kissed me goodbye before heading to work. That was it as I couldn't get back to sleep so the only thing left was to get ready for the days dig with Makinholes , French Dave and Max the bilingual wonder dog.
Before heading out I gave myself a liberal application of Vasoline (no not for that area) to easy the pain as I got royally soaked last night at work and was in a world of hurt from being chaffed in the old "Y frame" area!
French Dave picked me up and I was immediately greeted with a wet kiss and a ton of shedded hair all over me from Max. Told him in English to jump in the backseat but apparently my lap was a lot more comfortable and he stayed there for the duration of the trip.
Makinholes was then picked up and we hit Tim's with Max's tail just a wagging as he devoured his Timbit. A short time later we were in our first field on a damp, cold blowy sort of day!<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6da01b3127cce888581b9f9cb00000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
Here we managed a few toasty tokens, buttons and buckles with the dig turning briefly into a bottle hunt with French Dave finding a large Bromo bottle and I these two.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6da01b3127cce888581bdf9cf00000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
Just as we were leaving this location to hit another area French Dave and his rickety Minelab pulled out this beauty!<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6da01b3127cce888581a478e600000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
Next field produced a few more toasties, buckles and buttons with the wind really picking up. Time was running out so we headed back with French Dave having a great day with the 1885 dime, 1816 W.A. Black token, 1903 large cent, a few buckles, silver ring, a couple of buttons and the blue bottle....so sad as they are my favourites...lol!
Makinholes also had a few buttons, musket ball and buckles to go with his 1840 Thistle token while I settled for 1 1919 large cent, 1815 genuine Brit copper and two very toasty large somethings.
Soil was not kind to the copper but was a nice outing with me Buds. Shown here is French Dave and I.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6da01b3127cce888581bbf9c900000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
On a sad note Tim was but down today due to cancer. He will be missed.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b4cc06b3127cce9d9a9738e33500000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
