French Dave and the Buttons

Leslie(nova scotia)

From the land of the Bluenose...had the pleasure of a visit from me bud French Dave from Chetticamp accompanied by his trusty bilingual wonder dog Max. Knowing that French Dave likes the military stuff we went back to where he found his colonial breast plate on a day made for digging and sniffing trees. Of course Max went ape ship when we pulled into a Tim's as the hostesses always give the dogs a treat so Max but on his best tail wagging and was rewarded with a timbit which was inhaled whole.

After a pleasant 45minute drive filled with catching up on the news and the whole nine yards about his new rugrat we hit the island with French Dave heading to see John about some paperwork.................ummmm must be to write a review about our good mainland food!

In my hands I had the twin to swing as Dave is selling me his Minelab backup (should be the other way around and that should be the backup) a nice Garrett which is the same year and model as mine. The cadillac of this here bouys way of thinking and I drove her hard going on a coin frenzy digging up 59 (nothing of note) compared to that "Minelab" users dozen but and that is big butt that I was sucking as F.D. pulled out a New Brunswick silver gilt military button and a crown cuff one. Lord love a duck some nice. Unfortunately my attempts at closeups with the Kodak Easyshare where blurred.

Then the rains came followed by darkness and it was time to leave but not before Max christened a few more trees. Was good to see me bud again who took up a fulltime job as house husband and can't get out to dig much anymore. His little one sure is a cute gipper!

Looks like Max was about ready to "christen" Dave in the pic. Hope he escaped with a dry arm. Great story, thanks for sharing.
