I had a good time yesterday! The weather was grand and we had a good spot to hunt. There was 4 of us hunting the area and we all left with something. I had the good luck at first but then I hit a dry spell. In the first thirty minutes I had found a very small coin (silver 1 krulzer 1803) and a nice large French button. After I got home and cleaned everything I realized that the last owner of the large French button sanded the c in Francaise so the coin reads Republique Fran aise. Funny stuff . Someone had a since of humor back then .The best find of the day for me was a musket flint .The picture did not come out as good as I hoped. I did know that lead was used to to wrap part of the flint. It was a very nice surprise to find one in real nice shape. I dug several flat buttons and other odds and ends . One of the guys found a 1774 silver on top of the ground. Some have all the luck.LOL Right before we rolled out I hit the area that I started in and I was thrilled to pull a 64th Regiment button . Now thats a good send off. There was 5 silver coins dug today. I got one and it was the newest at 1803. It was a fun day. I also had a bag full of dropped musket balls . I found two of them on top of the ground. I hope I can make it back to the area before the weather gets bad. It's about an hour away but worth the drive. I hope all is well and thanks for looking. HH
