Freezing field hunt yields first

Yesterday afternoon I went back to the farm field where I got the half-cent and flying eagle. This field has two home sites on it, this time I focused more on the more recently torn down home. My guess is it was torn down in the late 60s, plenty of aluminum and the only good find I got was a 62 Rosie. I usually carry a small plastic coin container with water that I put silver coins in, when I got home the Rosie was froze in ice. :D

For the last 45min of the hunt I went back to the older home site in the field to see if I had missed anything. I got a few flat buttons and just as I was ready to throw in the towel I got a clear 11-40 and it turned out to be my first 2 center. She's an 1865 and does have some flake and condition issues but I'm very happy to cross it of my find list.

Anyone who will hunt under extreme conditions deserves to find good coins. My hat is off to you. Great 2 center too.
