Freedom III Coin Commander

A friend is giving me an old Freedom III Coin Commander. He said it works but he didn't know if it was working right or not.
Just curious how well it works on coins and if there is a problem with it would it be cheap to fix or would it just be good for parts.
If I can get it working I will give it to some youngster interested in detecting but can't afford a detector.
Supposedly the detector is in very good shape with little actual use so maybe it has a loose coil wire or something simple to fix.
Anything you can tell me about the detector would be appreciated..........Joe Dirt
