freedom ace coin commander coil?

basstrackerman

Well-known member
what coils will work on the freedom ace coin commander? it has the 7 inch on it now. thanks

I used to own one of these (Freedom Ace Coin Commander) but sold it and bought a
Tesoro Silver uMax (worst trade I ever made looking back on it). I believe Garrett
changed the electronics part way through the series run which changes the types
of coils that can be used with it. Look on the coil:

Does it say "Garrett Deepseeker" and have a round, gold sticker that says "5.5" on
it (stands for 5.5 Khz)? or is it a newer Coin Commander Pro with the
Crossfire Coils?

If it is the older "Deepseeker 5.5 Khz" coil then you can use these 5.5 Khz coils from
different Garrett models or if you have any electrical wireing skills you can buy any
size Ace 150/250 coil you want to use, and 'rewire' the connectors. If you do this,
I don't think the center pin on the connector is used by anything electronically if I
remember right?!.?!?.?
If this totally frustrates you then you can just give it to me since it is unusable......LOL:)
