Free parking at Clearwater Beach FL ?

Are there any good places to park for free at Clearwater Beach ? I pumped $10.00 into the parking pass machine by the pier , and still got a $20.00 ticket ! There's got to be a decent place to park for free somewhere.

Here is the website on parking...

If you picked the lot by the pier, you picked the most expensive lot....all have time limits, you have to read the fine print on the meters! All the lots have been changed some this year just a few months ago, Clearwater Beach is trying to get more money and are driving people away from the beach.... I've had more people this year ask me what time it is than years earlier.....all are concerned about the meter in the lot.

'Robbed at the Beach' would be a good post!:sadwalk:

Hell, a guy might be able to park at some off beach restaurant and take a cab/bus the last few blocks?...I know! For a real cheap adventure, Find the nearest to your house HI Express, go there, grab a quick breakfast at their free buffet, grab a free towel off one of the maids carts, then take their free shuttle to the airport, THEN, jump on one of the beachside resorts free shuttles for the final leg to the beach! Just invert this process upon your return! If its in the late afternoon, you will even have a free hot cookie waiting for you! Your a Pirate right?
Mud

I like the way you think, mud.

Or you could just have someone drop you off and pick you up when done. (phone, electronics, etc in waterproof container)

You're crazy mud. I drive 2 hours to get to the beach , so getting dropped off isn't an option. I used to put $10.00 in and it was good till 1AM ! Now it's only good till noon ! Crazy ! There's gotta be some free , or at least cheaper parking somewhere over there. Guess I'll drive around a bit next time.

Its been awhile but there used a limited number of parking spaces on Kendall St. Around the corner from Hess station, they would usually fill up by 6 am.

Watch them waterproof containers. I purchased a Plano Guide Gear Waterproof container to put my watch etc in while I was detecting at the beach. Decided at the last minute to leave my cell phone in the vehicle as I would not be able to hear if I got a call. The container was never deeper than one foot.

After a bit of time had passed I opened the "Waterproof" container and poured the salt water back into the ocean. Looked at my watch and the inside of the crystal had moisture on it. Dried the watch in my hearing aid dryer. Wonder how long before everything in it is corroded from the salt.

I guess "Waterproof" must mean that you can not get it near the water.
